Its that time of year again, as the weather gets colder and more people try to save on their heating bills, wood burning chimneys are getting fired up. Residential wood burning chimneys that have been poorly maintained or not cleaned can result in fires and a panic 911 call. Here is a quick seasonal refresher presentation from the FLMS that can help keep us on our game when we get that call for a chimney fire in the next couple of months.
If you’d like the presentation source (Powerpoint 2016) so you can customize it to your department, just leave a comment below and ensure you include your email address and we’ll get it to you.

Hi Captain Leach,
Thanks for the feedback! The process for doing it in French is as easy as in english. These are the tools I use and they are not high-end. They require some knowledge of HTML and FTP with ZIP in order to upload and place in a course, along with HTML iframe code. There is also typical knowledge of Powerpoint required to create the presentations with transitions and integrated media.
PowerPoint 2016 – Powerpoint 2016 (2016 version specifically). This new version enables you to embed a video in the Powerpoint file itself, unlike past versions that just linked them. This makes the PPTX file contain everything – no more losing you videos when you copy the powerpoint file to another USB stick or computer. Also, when outputing Powerpoint files in other formats, the video is now available to third party programs to convert. This is a huge change that almost nobody is giving Microsoft credit for!
HTML5Point – http://www.ppt-to-html5.com/
Converts Powerpoint Slides, narration and video into HTML5 slides – preserves transitions, narrations, timings and media.
(Narration can be recorded remotely via an iphone, one file per slide, and assembled by me and outputted. We can also do professional studio-grade voice over with a script.)
Flipbook Maker Pro – http://www.kvisoft.com/flipbook-maker-pro/
Turns PDF, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, etc. in HTML5 in book format. Preserves inline video, etc.
Microsoft Movie Maker
Enables you to edit movie files that you download from your iphone or android phone or tablet. All my titling is done with this.

You can buy these packages online and they are inexpensive.
I think you’ve just identified my next few blog entries!
Question – are you posting them online or just presenting them in class?
